Christmas Music Playlists with Luke Bryan Songs
I Don't Want This Christmas To End
Luke Bryan is a Nashville country singer who writes and performs his own songs as well as producing material for other country artists. He achieved a number one in the US country album chart for his 2011 album 'Tailgates & Tanlines' with his 2013 compilation 'Spring Break...Here to Party' going one step further by making number one in the mainstream Billboard album charts. To date Luke's Christmas output has been limited to two songs with his debut festive song appearing on a 6-track 2008 compilation called 'Country For Christmas'. His rendition of Chuck Berry's 'Run Run Rudolph' featured alongside yuletide numbers by artists such as Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Little Big Town. Given the feistiness of Berry's original it is no surprise that Bryan decided to follow suit with snarly chords and freewheeling vocals. A rollicking Christmas tune to have you making like a child on Christmas morn.
It would be half a decade later in 2013 before Luke got tinselled up again for his appearance on Duck Dynasty's 'Duck the Halls: A Robertson Family Christmas'. The Robertson’s are a reality TV family whose brand of humour is particularly suited to the season so it was no surprise that their festive LP was positively received and among the Christmas best sellers in 2013. Luke joined Willie Robinson on an original called 'Hairy Christmas' (which is apt given the hirsute characteristics of shows participants) that was released as the album's main single and it proved to be a hoedown for all the family over the holidays. To promote the album/single Luke and Willie sang 'Hairy Christmas' at the 'CMA Country Christmas' show in December 2013.Author: Kevin
