We've always had a little respect for 80's favourite's Erasure, Vince Clarke and Andy Bell, and so news of an upcoming Christmas album has us very excited indeed. With a stack of Top 10 hits and some classic synthpop to their name they certainly have the potential to make a great one. According to Vince Clarke's official Twitter account the duo are in the process of recording covers of several Christmas classics and also some brand new Christmas songs of their own. The recording sessions are currently taking place in the duo's own studio in Brooklyn for the yet unnamed LP. Erasure don't have a particularly festive back catalogue apart from an 1988 release called 'Crackers International' which contained 2 festive numbers 'She Won't Be Home (Lonely Christmas)' and their take on the traditional 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen'. Here's hoping that all changes come the end of the year.
