Kelly Clarkson, the first winner of American Idol in 2002, has announced that she is to release a Christmas album this year called 'Wrapped In Red'. The singer has declared herself a big fan of the season and has been anxious to record a Christmas record for several years. Country star Ronnie Dunn has already been enlisted to join Clarkson on the record as has producer Greg Kurstin who she worked with previously on ‘Stronger’. Just last year Clarkson recorded the ‘There's a New Kid in Town’ duet with country music singer Blake Shelton on his ‘Cheers, It’s Christmas’ album which now looks like it was a dry run for her own Christmas release. Previously she had recorded ‘O Holy Night’ and ‘Grown Up Christmas List’ for the 2002 record ‘American Idol: Great Holiday Classics’.
