Get Into Christmas With The Jackson Jive

Though Alan Jackson's 'Let It Be Christmas' made its debut for the Christmas season in 2002 (it was his second Christmas album after 1993's 'Honky Tonk Christmas') it should be about to attract a whole suite of new fans given that it is due to be reissued later this month. With the title track being the only original the 11-track opus is a majestic statement of festive intent from the country star with his warm vocals giving new meaning to such classics as 'Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town', 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' and 'Away In A Manger'. So while 'Let It Be Christmas' might not be supplying us with new Christmas songs it would take a very hard heart not to end up swooning for Jackson and the big band reworkings of some of the greatest yuletide songs ever written.
