Susan Boyle Leaves No Song Unsung, No Wine Untasted On Her New Christmas Album

Susan Boyle, who was the star performer on the 2009 edition of Britain’s Got Talent, is prepping her 5th album and this time it will be all about Christmas. ‘Home For Christmas’ is due for release in late November and amongst the more trumpeted tracks is a duet she has recorded with Elvis Presley for ‘Oh Come All Ye Faithful’. Elvis originally recorded the carol in 1971 and thanks to the wonders of technology he will be joined by the popular English singer for their Christmas duet. Elvis has been making a habit of these posthumous duets having had a whole album of them on 2008’s ‘Christmas Duets’ with included many of today’s top female stars such as Carrie Underwood, Amy Grant and Martina McBride. Susan Boyle’s ‘Home For Christmas’ will contain soaring renditions of ‘Little Drummer Boy’, ‘When A Child Is Born’ (another duet but this time with a very much alive Johnny Mathis), ‘The Christmas Waltz’ and most interestingly Greg Lake’s ‘I Believe In Father Christmas’. These aren’t Boyle’s first Christmas recordings as her 2nd album ‘The Gift’ contained a batch of carols but this time there is a complete 12 track mix of religious and secular favourites.
