A Christmas Album For Family Guys, Gals, Boys and Girls

Not content with just being the darling of TV and Hollywood ('Family Guy', 'Ted') Seth MacFarlane is about to add another string to his considerable bow by recording a Christmas album. While this might seem like a stretch he certainly has form in so much as he has already recorded an album in 2011 called 'Music Is Better Than Words'. The main character of his 'Family Guy' animated series Peter Griffin is also known to break into a Christmas song or two on occassion. Given that his TV and cinematic work is squarely set in the comedy domain McFarlane's yet untitled Christmas album could well become a skit on the season. But given his expressed love for the music of Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra and Mel Tormé we could also be in line for the grandeur of an old style Christmas album. The latter outcome is reinforced by some of the guest singers recruited for the upcoming album including Norah Jones (who will duet with McFarlane on  'Little Jack Frost Get Lost') and Sara Bareilles ('Baby, It's Cold Outside'). That and the fact that the album is being recorded with a 52-piece orchestra at the fabled Abbey Road Studios (as favoured by the Beatles) with Frank Sinatra's bassist Chuck Berghofer also getting in on the action. Other tracks confirmed for McFarlane's Christmas LP include 'Let It Snow' and a track from Lee Gordon called 'Christmas Dreaming'.
