Owing to his lightable nose and his pole position on the reindeer grid it is not surprising that Rudolph is the one that gets all the attention. But for all that he would be left in a worrying lurch if he didn't have the backup from Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. So thankfully our playlist about Santa's cuddly sleigh engine sees fit to include some of the lesser members of the team. Badly Drawn Boy's 'Donna And Blitzen' is perhaps the most fertile of all of Rudolph-free compositions as it features the most engaging elements of the tea-cosy wearing bard's song-writing gifts. Elsewhere there are more obvious inclusions like Elmo & Patsy's ever chuckle inducing novelty Christmas tune 'Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer'. If like us you prefer your Christmas music to mix it up a little and veer from the tried and tested then Peggy Lee's breezy take on 'Jingle Bells', which she rechristened 'I Like A Sleighride', should be enough to have you jogging on the spot in unison with those heroes of Christmas Eve.
